Sindh Board Matric Exam Date 2026: New Date Sheet & 40% Passing Marks Rule

🔴 BREAKING NEWS: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25, 2026 – LATEST REVISION

As of today, March 25, 2026, the Sindh Education Department and the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) have issued a final clarification on the 2026 Annual Examinations. While original plans suggested a March 31 start, the schedule has been adjusted to accommodate Holy Week and Easter.

📅 Confirmed SSC Part 1 & 2 Exam Dates

According to the latest government directive:

  • SSC Part II (Class 10): Examinations will commence on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
  • SSC Part I (Class 9): Examinations will commence on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
  • Intermediate (HSSC): Exams remain scheduled for April 15, 2026.

⚠️ The “U-Grade” Crisis: New 40% Passing Threshold

The biggest change for 2026 is the Abolishment of the 33% Passing Mark. Following the national reform by the Inter-Board Coordination Commission (IBCC), Sindh has officially raised the passing bar to ensure global standards.

“Any student scoring below 40% in any subject will be marked as ‘U’ (Ungraded). A ‘U’ result is considered a FAIL, and students must reappear in the 2nd annual examinations to improve.”

New 10-Point Grading Table (Official 2026)

Percentage Grade Descriptor
96% – 100%A++Extraordinary
91% – 95%A+Exceptional
81% – 85%B++Excellent
40% – 50%DEmerging (Pass)
Below 40%UUngraded (Fail)

3. Conceptual Papers (SLO-Based)

Chairman BSEK, Ghulam Hussain Sohoo, has confirmed that the 2026 papers will be 100% Digital Workflow using OMR and E-Marking. Students should focus on Conceptual Clarity as questions will assess analytical skills rather than rote memorization.
