Sindh MBBS/BDS Admission 2026-27: Last Date 26 October, Eligibility, Apply Online

MBBS and BDS admission at a public medical college in Sindh — students in white coats

Applications for MBBS and BDS at Sindh’s nine public medical and dental colleges close on Monday, 26 October 2026 — three days from now. The joint advertisement was published by the Health Department, Government of Sindh and Jinnah Sindh Medical University on 12 October 2026, and late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

One thing trips up students every year: you do not apply to a college directly. You apply online to the single processing university tagged to your domicile district, print the form, and submit the physical file at a designated Leopards Courier branch. This guide gives you the exact district lists, eligibility rules straight from the official prospectus, the fee, and the merit formula — with the traps marked so you don’t lose your form to a avoidable mistake.

Key points

  • Last date: Monday 26 October 2026. Forms opened 12 October 2026 for MBBS and BDS at Sindh’s nine public colleges.
  • Apply through your domicile’s tagged university only: JSMU (jsmu.edu.pk) for all Karachi districts; LUMHS (lumhs.edu.pk) for 13 districts including Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad; SMBBMU (admissions.smbbmu.edu.pk) for 10 Larkana/Sukkur-region districts.
  • Eligibility from the official prospectus: FSc Pre-Medical with at least 60% (some websites wrongly say 65% — the prospectus says 60%); MDCAT at least 55% for MBBS, 50% for BDS; Sindh domicile + PRC required.
  • Merit = MDCAT 50% + FSc 40% + Matric 10%. Seats are filled district-wise on quota.
  • Fee: Rs 3,500 per programme, paid at Leopards Courier (MBBS + BDS together = Rs 7,000). Print the online form and submit it with documents at a designated courier branch — an online-only application does not count.
  • After the deadline: MBBS provisional merit list 2 Nov, final 6 Nov; BDS provisional 11 Nov, final 14 Nov (per the prospectus schedule).

Last date and why this week matters

The admission window is short by design: 12 October to 26 October 2026. The official schedule in the joint prospectus lists the last date to submit forms as 26 October, and the LUMHS admissions page confirms it. This was re-verified on 22 October 2026 and no deadline extension has been announced.

Courier submission takes time. Your physical file must reach through a designated Leopards branch — so the real deadline is whenever your branch stops accepting same-day processing. Do not plan for 26 October evening; aim to submit by 24 October.

The nine colleges — and who processes your form

The 2026-27 joint advert covers nine public medical and dental colleges in Sindh. But only three universities process the forms, and you list your preferred colleges inside the one form:

Processing universityColleges it covers
JSMU, Karachi (jsmu.edu.pk)Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Karachi Metropolitan University (KMDC), Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari (SMBBMC)
LUMHS, Jamshoro (lumhs.edu.pk)Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) group — applies for LUMHS-tagged district applicants
SMBBMU, Larkana (admissions.smbbmu.edu.pk)SMBBMU group (Chandka Medical College Larkana, Bibi Aseefa Dental College Larkana) — applies for SMBBMU-tagged district applicants

Note: PUMHSW Nawabshah admits female students from all districts of Sindh on merit-cum-choice — apply via www.pumhs.edu.pk. The overseas/foreign-national window runs 16–30 October 2026 separately.

Your district → your processing university (official lists)

Apply only to the university tagged to your district of PRC/domicile, per the official prospectus. Applying to the wrong university gets your form rejected.

Processing universityTagged districts
JSMU, KarachiAll districts of Karachi
LUMHS, JamshoroHyderabad, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah), Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Jamshoro, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan
SMBBMU, LarkanaLarkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Dadu, Kamber-Shahdadkot, Kashmore, Naushehro Feroze, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur

Karachi students apply through JSMU; students from Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad districts fall under LUMHS — not SMBBMU, which surprises many. If your district is not in any list above, check the official prospectus before applying.

Eligibility: the real rules from the prospectus

The official prospectus (not third-party sites) sets these rules:

  • FSc Pre-Medical (or equivalent): at least 60% unadjusted marks. Grace marks are not counted. ⚠️ Several websites state 65% — that figure does not come from the official prospectus. Use 60%.
  • MDCAT: at least 55% for MBBS, at least 50% for BDS. The advert names MDCAT conducted by IBA Sukkur in 2024, 2025 or 2026. If you sat MDCAT with a different board, confirm with your processing university before applying.
  • Sindh domicile + PRC required. You compete within your own district’s seat quota.
  • Equivalence holders: IBCC equivalence is required for foreign/board qualifications.

How to apply: online form, documents, courier submission

  1. Fill the online form on your tagged university’s website (jsmu.edu.pk, lumhs.edu.pk, or admissions.smbbmu.edu.pk) — the university tagged to your domicile district, not the college you want.
  2. Print the completed form. Read the university’s instruction sheet for its list of required documents (JSMU’s “Important Instruction and List of Required Documents” sheet dated 16 October 2026 is linked on the JSMU admissions page).
  3. Attach all documents in a properly labeled file cover — matric and intermediate marksheets/certificates, MDCAT result, domicile, PRC, CNIC/B-Form, photographs as listed.
  4. Submit at a designated Leopards Courier branch with the processing fee: Rs 3,500 per programme, including courier charges (Rs 7,000 if you apply for both MBBS and BDS). Only designated branches accept the files — not every Leopards counter.
  5. Keep your courier receipt. The physical submission is the real application; the online form alone does not count.

Merit formula and how seats are filled

Merit is calculated to five decimal places, district-wise, using your district quota:

MDCAT 50% + HSSC/FSc 40% + Matric/SSC 10%

If two candidates’ merit scores are equal up to five decimals, the candidate older in age stands higher on merit — straight from the prospectus.

Across Sindh’s public colleges, secondary sources report roughly 2,550 MBBS and 500 BDS seats this cycle — use the official prospectus tables for exact college-wise numbers, which vary by merit, self-finance and foreign categories.

Mistakes that get forms rejected

  • Applying to the wrong processing university. Karachi domicile → JSMU. Mirpurkhas or Shaheed Benazirabad domicile → LUMHS. Larkana, Sukkur, Dadu, Khairpur → SMBBMU.
  • Submitting online only. The printed form with documents at a Leopards branch is what counts.
  • Paying the wrong fee. Rs 3,500 per programme, at the designated branch — not online, not at a random counter.
  • Trusting the “65%” claim. Official eligibility is 60% in FSc. Don’t disqualify yourself on a rumour.
  • Applying to Dow or Gambat “directly.” No college accepts applications itself — everything goes through the three processing universities.
  • Missing documents. Read the instruction sheet, don’t guess the checklist.

After 26 October: merit list dates

Per the official prospectus schedule:

  • MBBS provisional merit list: 2 November 2026 (objections 2–4 Nov) → final: 6 November 2026
  • BDS provisional merit list: 11 November 2026 (objections 11–12 Nov) → final: 14 November 2026

Keep visiting your processing university’s website after the lists drop — this site will track the merit lists here as they are published.

FAQs

Can I apply if my domicile is from another province?

The joint advert is for Sindh domicile + PRC holders, who compete district-wise. Foreign and overseas candidates use a separate window (16–30 Oct) on the processing universities’ websites.

Does MDCAT from Punjab or KP count?

The advert names MDCAT conducted by IBA Sukkur (2024, 2025 or 2026). If you sat MDCAT elsewhere, ask your processing university before you pay the fee.

Is 60% in FSc really enough?

For eligibility, yes — 60% is the official prospectus requirement. Getting a seat is a different matter: merit closes much higher depending on your district and college.

Can I apply for both MBBS and BDS?

Yes — the fee is Rs 3,500 per programme, so Rs 7,000 for both. Each is a separate application.

How is merit calculated?

MDCAT 50% + FSc 40% + Matric 10%, calculated to five decimal places, within your district quota.
